Player and MP3's Coming Soon! I never considered pursuing a singing career until meeting my father, IKE TURNER, approximately 10 years ago. I've had a passion for singing for most of my life. Singing in school and church choirs greatly influenced my vocal ability with range and power. Vocal influences are Aretha Franklin, Cher, Pat Benatar, and Chaka Kahn. I enjoy and perform a wide range of musical styles, i.e. rock, R & B, funk, and jazz. This versatility enables me to invite the audience into every song I perform. My audiences expect and appreciate this aspect about my show. WHY? I am asked repeatedly why my father and I aren't performing together. Well, I have three careers going on all at one time... the first being the MOM of a beautiful seven year old daughter named Heather; second, a Transportation Engineering Technician for the Department of Transportation (CALTRANS); and third, a weekend performer/entertainer. My first two priorities sort of squashed any dreams of performing with my Dad. Pursuing an entertainment career would leave very little room for my first two priorities So, I continued to pursue my music career in a much smaller, but fulfilling manner. In 1997, I performed with my father, Steve Cropper, Matt "Guitar" Mitchell, and Otis Grand at the San Francisco Blues Festival; performed with Elvin Bishop and Little Feat at the "Redwood Run, in Piercy, California; 1997; in the same year, performed at the "Wavy Gravy Camp Winnarainbow" with a variety of artists; sang backup on Howard Wales (formerly with the "Grateful Dead") "Monk In the Mansion" CD. In 1998 had a two week engagement in Paris, France performing at the "Maxwell Cafe"'; also performed aboard the "Battleship Intrepid" in New York Currently performing with a dynamic Blue/Rock/R&B trio, "Blutopia". Brian Sweet on bass, Matt Taynton on guitar, and Steve Van Dewark on drums. We've performed as a monstrous foursome for the past two years.
