The Black Market Jazz Orchestra is a sophisticated dance band that plays music from every era. The band was originally formed in 1993 to record a CD entitled "Art Attack" for Sea Breeze records. The Band quickly became popular playing Art & Wine festivals and doing Music Clinics in Bay Area Intermediate and High Schools teaching young adults the art of playing jazz.

With the success of the CD and the popularity of the hand rising they were soon called to perform with name entertainers such as Marilyn McCoo, Ray Charles and Tony Bennett.

The Black Market Jazz Orchestra now plays several hundred engagements a year across the country. Half of the bands work comes from Corporate Events, playing Shows and Theme Parties. The size of the band varies from a 6 piece for Dance parties, to a 40 piece Orchestra for Shows. BMJO also performs at an average of 80 weddings a year and still has a commitment to education. The primary focus of the band is to perform music at its highest level and bring the joy of music to as many people as possible.

The members of BMJO are seasoned professionals. They can play any style of music at the highest level of musicianship. The members of the band love what they do. Most importantly, they are friendly, courteous and easy to get along with. Expect nothing less than the best from this band. From our musical heart to
